January Days

Actually, this picture might have been taken in February, because it's a fairly recent picture...but here are Brad and December, after December's bath time.

Ha! I was trying to take another picture of Brad and December when -- pop! -- up comes Isaac right in front of the camera, just in time to get in the shot

December's idea -- a picture of silliness

Isaac sitting in and playing with the pots and pans so Mommy has some peace (but not quiet) while making dinner! He loved it, as you can tell!

At the beginning of January, my Grandma stayed with us for a week while my Grandpa, Dad & Mom, and my brother Klynt and his wife Marie (along with members of their church) went into Mexico for a missions trip. Grandpa and Mom & Dad joined us the following week for some fun! I'll put up a post of that next time. But here's me, Grandma, December, Isaac, and Brad (taking the picture) at the Wild Animal Park.

December with the bear Great-Grandma got her for Christmas. Since then, Isaac has adopted it away from December and sleeps with it every night.

The lion sleeping on the truck in his enclosure.

The Wild Animal Park is fun to go to, just to look at the plant life there!

An African Crowned Crane. See the water droplets glistening on his back?

At the airport, picking up my Grandma and seeing Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Klynt (standing in the background with the sunglasses), and Marie off to Mexico.

Disneyland Today!

Here is where we're going to be today!! This was a picture taken last March, I believe, when Grampie and Grammie took the kids to Disneyland. This time we'll be going with the kids' Uncle Mike and Auntie Kim, who are visiting us right now. We've been having alot of fun with them, and I'll post more pictures of our visit with them another time. December is SUPER excited to go to Disneyland again -- probably our last time there, since Brad will be graduating this spring and we'll most likely be moving away from here. When I say December is excited to go, it is true, but we're actually ALL crazy-excited to go back to "the happiest place on earth"!

Christmas 2009

December's Christmas program at church. She's standing on the first step at the very end. She sang every word!

I think she was a bit nervous -- I've never seen her hold so still in her entire life!

Here's Isaac relaxing a few days before we left for our Christmas trip to Calgary. Ha!

Isaac in the "playroom" at Grampie & Grammie's house. He and December are watching Grampie snow-blow the driveway.

December posing for her window picture.

And there's Grampie, working away!

December giving Isaac a ride in the car. They both thought this was GREAT fun!

Playing outside in the snow with Daddy. This is something the kids don't get to do very often!

Brad kicking snow up with his boots for Isaac to watch.

Brad and December getting ready to head out into the snow. Auntie Erin was very kind and let December and Isaac borrow some winter coats for our time there -- the kids own nothing like that! They don't even own spring coats! And December has on a pair of Grammie's snow pants that she swam in, and some pair of adults' boots that we put her shoed feet into. It all kept her warm! :)

Isaac playing in the suitcase as I was packing and getting us ready to head back to California. It reminded me of an old picture of December, in the same room, in the same suitcase, at Christmas time of 2006. Here it is...

Ha! December is 10-months old in this picture, so she's a few months younger than Isaac, but the other similarities are surprising!

Isaac's 1st Birthday!

This is waaay overdue, of course, especially since we just had December's birthday, but I wanted to show you pictures from Isaac's first birthday party. We had a joint party with Clara (who was born 3 days after Isaac). Here are the cakes I made for them. The #1 had both of their names in block letters on it, and the two little ones were for them to dig into!

Here they are, going crazy with the cakes! Or at least, Isaac was. He was ALL OVER this getting-dirty thing! He loves chocolate and cake, so the combination was perfect for him!

Clara was the perfect little lady and ate her cake comparatively daintily.

We transferred them straight into the bathtub after this...you should have seen the water after they got out, it was really quite nasty!! It looked like chocolate milk...

A close-up of Clara's chocolatey face.

...and Isaac's!
