Playing with Cousins

Here is December playing. This Dora the Explorer car was the coveted toy among the small kids, and December was no exception! She played a bit in the pool, too, though I didn't get any pictures of that because when she was in the pool, I was in the pool, too! We had alot of fun at Danielle's house. I need to go finish packing, though, and give December a quick bath before her good humor retires for the night.

Going away

December next to some of her favorite things: her daddy, her dolly, and a book

She often will just sit down and flip through her books, looking at the pictures and saying the sounds of the animals she recognizes

In this picture, December is helping me unload the groceries. She discovered the bag of grapes she could barely keep her hands off of in the grocery store! I was getting more bags out of the car, and I came inside to find December like this, thoroughly enjoying herself!

Brad's birthday was yesterday! December made him a card and gave him a present. Brad wanted hamburgers for his birthday dinner, so we had that and corn on the cob, and cake and ice cream for dessert. We're going to celebrate Brad's birthday with my family tomorrow. I think Brad's birthday was the hottest, most humid day of the year. It was forecasted to be 92 degrees F (about 31 degrees C), and humid like crazy!

Today December is going to go visit Danielle (there were pictures of her in the Memorial Day post) and swim in her pool. Makenzi, Markus, and Emilia will be there, too. It will be fun! Tomorrow morning, my whole family is going on vacation for a few days. I am so excited about it! When we get back, I'll put up some pictures and tell you all about it.

Vacation Bible School

Brad as Terry the Turtle, me as Rocky the Rabbit, and Keeley (a girl in our youth group) as H.M. Hawk

Here's what Brad's turtle shell looks like! (made out of styrofoam)

We just finished doing our last VBS skit! Here's what we've been looking like every morning for the past week. The kids and teachers really seemed to enjoy the skits, and though it was alot of work, it was quite fun, too! Brad was a slow, patient, even-keeled Turtle, and I was an energetic, impulsive, crazy Rabbit. We were the main characters, and there were different characters that came and went throughout the week. This morning, December decided to get into the swing of waking up early, so she was up at 6:30am, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! It made it easier to feed her and get out of the house at the right time, but I hope she doesn't make this a habit...tomorrow morning, we don't have to leave the house so early!

Full Week

This is what December commonly looks like after eating. She likes especially to put her hands through her hair when she eats. It's all rather messy. But, she's happy with herself, as the next picture shows!

What a busy week! It's hard to keep up with all the activity. Poor December is getting dragged from place to place and being woken up from naps just to keep up. She barely wakes up before she's sitting in her high chair, sleepily eating breakfast so that we can leave at 7:45am to get to church by 8:30am to practice. We practice, then perform the skits for the VBS kids (hopefully tomorrow I can get some pictures of Brad and I). There are two more skits to go. After we drop Brad off at work, we come home. For the past two days, I have then dug right into getting the house ready for showings. We have another showing tomorrow, too. Then, while the house is being shown, December and I have to not be around, so we leave and go grocery shopping or Daddy's birthday shopping or find something to go do. Then it's back home to make dinner, then clean-up after dinner, then putting a worn-out December to bed, then breaking out the script to memorize the next morning's lines. A day or so of that schedule isn't bad, but I'm finding an entire week of it quite energy-draining! Maybe I should try to sneak in a quick nap right now, while December is asleep.
