This Week

Earlier this week, December woke up from her nap before she was really ready to, so she climbed up on the bed with me and fell back to sleep.

I think parents must never get sick of looking at their sleeping child...I know that's true of Brad and I!

Every Tuesday is Park Day for the seminary wives and children. We all go to the park for a couple of hours in the morning and let the kids play together. Here my friend Sara is showing a bug to Noah, Calvin, and December.

This week had some more sweltering days, so on Wednesday we decided to go to the ocean to cool off. I am so glad we did, because it was wonderful!

Usually I forget to bring December's bucket and shovel, but we remembered this time, and I'm kicking myself for not remembering to bring it every time! She spent so much time just shoveling sand into the bucket and dumping it out again. I couldn't believe how occupied she was with it...and for such a long time!

I've been getting things ready for the baby's arrival, just in case he/she decides to come early. So I've been washing blankets and baby outfits and cutting tags off new baby toys, etc. Right now I'm working on cleaning out the infant car seat, washing the cloth parts and scrubbing down the rest. It's fun working on all this stuff, and December is a great helper as always, laying in the infant carrier and trying it out for the new baby...making sure it works. Brad preached a sermon this week to his Preaching Narratives class. It was recorded on a dvd, so I got to watch it in the evening -- he did a great job! I was very impressed with what he did.
