Linda, the girl who lives upstairs in our house, has a hibiscus plant -- this is one of the flowers. Isn't it gorgeous? They only bloom for one day, and then they wilt.
December is learning how to go down stairs by herself! This is her concentrating very hard. I took this picture the day before we left...all the packing got finished, though I was up until almost 2:00am to do it. I took a little break from packing around midnight, because that's when someone accidentally (drunkily?) drove his truck into one of our neighbor's houses. That was quite the excitement!
Brad and I arrived safely yesterday evening, and we had a fun night with everyone last night. I was worried about December, because as you know she has such a hard time sleeping anywhere but her own bed. Last time we were here (in January), it was a complete nightmare! Once we were able to hold her to sleep and slip her into her bed (many were our woes if she happened to wake up while we slipped her into bed), she would wake up so many times during the night I would lose count. Each time we'd have to get up, hold her until she fell asleep in our aching arms, and lay her back down again. It was pretty difficult. BUT, last night, she went to bed absolutely perfectly and slept through the entire night!! YAY! Life is good. One of the cats slipped in while I was checking on her last night (unbeknownst to me), and a little later, I heard a cat meowing loudly. I went to check up on the sound, and it was coming from December's room! The cat was stuck inside her room and clearly wanted out...but December didn't even stir! It was great. All next week we will be camping with Brad's family, so I won't be able to update the blog, unfortunately. But as soon as we get back, I'll show you lots of pictures!
