Fire Update

We are still in our apartment, thankfully! They have put up mandatory evacuations for homes as close as one block away from us. Most (if not all) of the other seminary couples that live here have already left, just to be safe. We have everything packed and by the door, waiting for that phone call telling us to evacuate, or that police officer to come knock on our door. I go through waves of being rather scared, and then being optimistic and happy that I get to sleep in my own apartment tonight. The fires are pretty much uncontainable because of the incredible wind force. The fires shoot embers way far ahead of themselves, which starts a whole new fire. The wind makes the palm trees look like how you see them in hurricane weather, all bent over. We just need the winds to calm down and rain to come! But for now, we are safe...relatively.

Thanks for the update! I've been praying for all of you very often as well as the other people I know that live in the area. They have already evacuated. You guys are never far from mind. Keep me posted. Thanks!

Hey Kristin! Its great to hear that you guys are all doing well. I really hope that you guys won't have to evacuate. You are in our prayers. I hope that you are able to enjoy Aunt Denise's company without having the fires get in the way.
Love, Justine
